Steven volunteers for the guardian ad litem program assisting children within the legal system. He's also hosted benefits for the animals of the Humane Society and, after Hurricane Katrina, he collected and distributed necessary aid to its victims before spending three weeks assisting in the cleanup effort.

“Since I was 8 years old, I have always wanted to be an attorney. I’ve always been passionate about helping others, especially those who have a feeling of helplessness. Fighting for other people is in my DNA. I truly believe in seeking justice in ALL circumstances; this means helping people to understand their rights, fighting to ensure those rights are intact, and making sure that the criminal justice system doesn’t overwhelm my clients. I believe that people deserve second chances, that a mistake shouldn’t define anyone, and that a label such as “criminal” shouldn’t become anyone’s identity. Because of this, I work tirelessly to combine compassion, zeal, and integrity in my practice.”
